Hi Vic,

I usually record while capturing analog with my D-8, saving me the step of capturing after recording... the TC is bang-on

Sorry to be dense Marty, but how do you set it up?

I have a Sony deck with component in and DV out, so getting the signal won't be a problem, but what settings do you use on the Vegas side?
Great to hear that it will work.
By the way (anyone else...) you've got a great instructional site. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to set it up.

Hi Vic,

I turn off device control in Vegas Capture

I hookup to the analog inputs, pop a tape in the handycam and start recording in the VTR mode...

Then I use Vegas to Capture the DV stream coming out of the DV port

Just like analog capture, but the VTR is also recording.

Will test in AM - shoot on Friday - thanx, as usual.

I have to agree that one of the best things about Vegas is this forum and folk like you.

tested setup today - problem - it works, but timecode does not relate to time code on tape - am I missing something?
Vegas restarts her own time code counter at zero each time I start to record, rather than in sync with tape time code.
This will make redigitizing a nightmare.
Suggestions??
