Skipping Mpeg-2 Video & AC3 Audio...Again

I've read that many have had similar problems on other threads. I think I've isolated the bug, or a bug anyway.

VBR encoded mpeg-2's in VV 4 don't skip on any computer DVD drive I use, but when I play them on any set top DVD player (I've tried four different players), I get both video and audio skipping...a lot of it. I am using the default settings, and have tried a few customs as well.

If I encode at CBR 8,000,000 for the vid, 448 for the AC3, they play fine on any player. Apparently the MC encoder, not DVD-A, is causing (a) the problem.

Any thoughts?

PS - Please don't take away the HD capability when you do the next release! The MC does a beautiful 15,000,000 mps CBR at 720p.

Have you actually tried burning the disc a 1x speed ??

whether it is cdr vcd, svcd or dvd media, some set top players do not like reading cdr or dvd's burned faster than 1x or 2x.

Try 1x burning speed and see if you have the problem.
