When installing the latest Vegas update I was prompted to install the latest DirectX and DV update. The DirectX was ok, the DV update destroyed my Windows98 registry. Totally destroyed the registry. Dell support couldn't talk me through anything but to reformat and start over. They suggested that it was a corrupt file from the MS website. When I finally had everything reloaded, I took the opportunity to partition my drive to use one partition only for audio. Since I have everything reloaded, now Vegas skips indescrimenintly. The gauge on the program shows I am using only 0-40% drive usage, but it still skips. I am using a Turtle Beach sound card. Before the crash it worked just fine. After, now the skips. What should I do?
