SKYPE! Just learnt import DVD feature

Having SKYPE I've just learnt the value of the IMPORT DVD from Camcorder and that it can do this from my DVDs . .. yes yes yes . . it has always been there in V6, but as I don't have a DVD Camcorder I just saw the "wording" DVD Camcorder and ignored this. Now getting beyond that, I now realise I can "rip" from my own DVDs.

The point being here is that having a REAL conversation about this stuff via a voice/internet I was able to "explore" Vegas, in real time, with one of our colleagues on the other side of the Planet!

Amazing . . totally amazing . .

Just be aware, be very aware that the media will be re-encoded.
Probably not a big issue if the source was at max bitrate and very clean but otherwise things can get ugly.

If you're doing this a lot Womble is a far better choice, I've only run it as a trial but it was very fast and only the affected frames are re-encoded. In other words it's a native mpeg editor.

A small disclaimer, Womble is an Australian product, it may cause your DVDs to spin the other way.

"it may cause your DVDs to spin the other way"

That's ok. I heard that Grazie is backward compatible!

Bob,

When I looked at the world maps you sell in Australia, I was glad to see that you were definitely on the up and up though.

:O)

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
