Has anyone had any experience with showing edited video via Skype?
Like - could you have a client half way round the world and interactively show him/her your work - AS YOU EDIT?
Now, if you mean just Edit? Then I have done this. Showing your screen WITH the preview running - yes this I have done - often.
If you mean doing a STREAM and simultaneously EDIT .. well I tried just the stream 6 months back - with those who know! - and bugger! Nope! I have had success with MSN. But that only catches the middle 2/3s of the pic - ie zoomed-in. Now, my thoughts are to do a Quick N Dirty re-frame to about a 1/3 off TO TAPE! That is the clue. Once done to tape you CAN use the deck as the webcam. Well I can. I can pick up my Pannie Deck as a camera for MSN.
If you DO get SKYPE to work this way, do tell me Vic.
If you had your webcam pointed at the screen, it'd certainly show up, albeit with low resolution. I've done this with family members in trouble shooting computer stuff. Connections going half way across the world might be poor, with lots of delay, etc.
Hey, I even got Skype to use my Firewire-connected DV cam (needs some program like webcamdv or trackercam) -- much better picture. Edit: guess Grazie found a way to send pre-recorded video..
