Tried cleaning up your prerendering folder? - G

Ayup, tried that and tried doing it again, same thing. The only time I've seen this is when trying to multitask while simultaneously printing to tape. In this though I was doing nothing while it was prerendering and after it didnt work the first time I closed down every optional program that was running, also tried setting the priority for Vegas higher in Windows.

Hey Ray -

Vegas defaults pre-renders to the C: drive - try prerendering to your D: or other - it might help.

I use a separate firewire drive for every project I produce - you can pick up 40Gig drives for under $50. I put EVERYTHING on the drive - the VEG files, the media, ACID files, stills, scripts, budgets, bills - everything. Keeping the media separate from the OS and the Program definitely speeds things up.

Plus -
A - it works great, and I'm NEVER "out of drive space"
B - when I have to revise or find something, I know exactly where to look
C - I never erase anything (and later REGRET it) - to make a little "I need it NOW" drive space.
