Slicing a clip?

I usually use the cut/paste feature to insert a slice into a clip so I can move the latter half around. Is there a way to add a slice into a clip without moving everything around?

You want to split a clip into multiple pieces? How about placing the cursor where you want to split and pressing S to split? Or is there something more than that you want to accomplish?
