Slide Show with Music.

Is there a way in Vegas 4 to has a music track that is 3:20 minutes long for exp.and then add say 23 picture for exp. to the timeline and have them evenly spread out from the beginning of the song to the end automaticly? Is there a script or a setting that would acomplish this with out a whole lot of calculating.

Thanks in advance for all your help on this.

Mark.

Vegas is very user-friendly for slideshow layouts, but you'll have to do a little math to make it come out just right.

On the editing tab of the preferences window, you can set the default length for still pictures and choose whether you want them to har cut or overlap (crossfade). Check the box if you want them to cross fade, then you can set the amount of time for them to cross fade. Then, it's just a matter of selecting the whole works and drgging them up to the timeline -- instant slideshow. It works great.

As far as timing it out, you'll have to divide the number of pics by the number of seconds, then tweak based whether or not you cross fade and how long the fades are.

No math nesessesary:

Once you have all your pics in the timeline, select all either with Ctrl/A or right-click the first one and choose Select Events to End. Then hit G to group them.

Now, if you Ctrl/drag the edge of the last pic, they ALL will resize evenly as you drag, so you can make them line up perfectly with the music.

I thought I read some where that you can have the pictures automaticly stretch out to the langth of the song in DVDA, is this true? If so I thought there might be a way to do it in VV4.

Gary

Thanks for the responce. I followed your instruction to the letter and for some reason I cant get it to work. I know there must be something I'm missing, but I did every thing you said and for some reason only the last picture, the one you said to hold ctrl and drag the last picture to the end of the music clip will resize. If i'm decreasing the size, it will only go to the end of the second to the last picture. If I stretch the last pictue, only the last picture will resize.
Is there something else that I have to do to get your instructions to work? some setting somewhere?

Thank you for your help on this.

Perhaps you have Ignore Event Grouping turned on?
