I think she was double-clicking the filename to actually run the script, instead of going thru the menus. I got the same error when I tried it.

That could be:

To run scripts...

Tools - Scripting... - Run Script and locate the file in the dialog box that appears.

Just a quick question...do I have to manually overlap the jpg (or png) files on the event?
jetdv wrote on 7/17/2003, 9:27 AM
In this version, you MUST create the overlaps BEFORE running the script. The script will simply modify the existing overlaps. This was just a quickie update to get the script running on the release version of Vegas and the "1000" value is now being ignored. So, yes, overlap first, then run the script.

Don't wanna beat this to death, but I still don't understand something I posted earlier about trying to create a slideshow of pics overlapping eachother :

I went into Pref, under the editing tab and have the check on 'Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added". The Cut-to-overlap amount is 10.000, alignment is Center on cut. Envelope fade is set to smooth. In EXPLORER I click on 2 jpg file and add them to the timeline. Somehow I don't get the automatic crossfades, just a straight cut. Can you see where I went wrong?

I thought that automatic crossfades means that Vegas would automatically create a crossfade dissolves between two pic and spare me the time to manually overlap them.

BTW: I love the script you provided and it will come in handy at certain sections of video. Very well done.

Thanks

Do you have "Automatic Crossfades" turned on on the toolbar? When that is turned off, you get cuts instead of crossfades (CTRL-SHIFT-X also toggles it)

What do you have the New still image length (seconds): value set to? The default is 5 seconds. If you set the Cut-to-overlap conversion Amount (seconds): value to something greater than the still image length you will only get a cut because you’re asking for a 10 second overlap on a 5 second image. Try using 1 or 2 seconds for your overlap amount.

Thanks that was my problem!

Actually, it was just one woman who said her husband must've gotten a poisoned bottle. The reason she knew the bottle of tylenol was poisoned was because she poisoned it, and him. She was tried for his murder a few years ago, but the tamper proof bottles are her contribution to society. Her husband, dead as he is, should be proud!
Now, about that transition script....argh! I can feel my temples throbbing and I haven't even tried it yet! Can anybody say "star wipe?"
