Slideshow help

I'm trying to use Factory 1 to make a jpg slideshow and then put it on tape. When I load all of the pictures onto the timeline they default to 5 second viewing. I want to stretch it out so each picture is shown for 10 seconds. Is there any way that I can stretch out the pictures as a group so that the display time will distribute evenly to all the pictures or do I have to stretch each picture individually. I've tried selecting all of the pictures and creating a new group, but it didn't work.
Thanks

You can change many internal settings, including a still image's default time. Proceed with caution as you can easily mess up other stuff!

1. Click on Options on the Menu Bar
2. Hold down the Shift key while clicking left mouse button
3. You should now see the Internal Tab at the far right. Click on it.
4. Scroll down the list looking for: ntDefVideoStillLength.
5. Enter your desired value.

Note default value is 50,000,000 or 5 seconds. So to change to 1 second you would enter 10,000,000, a half second would be 5,000,000 and so on.

Do NOT change other values unless you know what they do. If you make a mistake you'll need to restore system defaults by holding down Ctrl and Shift keys when you next start application.

Tip: I find it useful when someone gives advice instead of hunting for it later in the knowledgebase I use Windows's copy and paste then dump the article in Notepad then save it under a file name of my selection. Much faster in the long run. :-)

2. Hold down the Shift key while clicking left mouse button

You forgot to mention to click on "Preferences" on this step.

However, there is an easier method. Just select all of the pictures and type "G" to Group them. Then grab the right edge of the group while holding the CTRL key down. You can then size all of your pictures as a group. This is useful for getting exact precision if you want to match your slideshow with a soundtrack.

Hey Jimcho - thanks for the tip on grouping and using the control key. I'd tried grouping and then stretching without results, and I've slowed down a clip using the control key, but never put 2+2 together to realize that would work. Did a major slide show for someone and did them all manually... Duh...
