Slideshow settings squiff

My slideshow setting are obviously wrong, but I don't know what to do to put them right! All my pictures are JPEGs taken on a
digital camera with good resolution settings, but when I try to simulate movement by zooming in or out using keyframes with Event Pan Crop, I keep getting the dreaded black lines, (not only with portrait photos) either vertically or horizontally. Can anyone tell me what settings I should use to make this less of a problem? For me, this is the one big drawback in Vegas.

Select all your pics, go to the Event Pan/Crop window, right click on the pic in the window, select Match Output Aspect. Cin

I have tried this, but although it adjusts the picture the black lines are still very obviously there. I have also tried adjustig the area shown in the EPC window but no matter what, I cannot get rid of the lines entirely.
