Vegas can make great slide shows. The question is: how did you do it? Are you zooming/panning the images? Did you use Track Motion or Pan/Crop? Did you render using "Best"?

For slideshows, my first step after adding an image is to open Pan/Crop, right-click the image in the Pan/Crop window, and then choose "Match Output Aspect".

Then you can use Pan/Crop to add any zooms or Pans to the image. DO NOT USE TRACK MOTION to zoom in on the image.

When rendering, make sure you change it to "BEST" since you're resizing images.

You need to tell us a LOT more.

What are your project properties? What file type are you rendering to? What is the file's resolution? How are you viewing the results?

Ok to be honest ive used the easy option for the slide show and done no editing just let vegas do it for me the resolution of the pics is about 8mp and being viewed on a 47" screen i know this will have an effect on the image but even when viewed on a 20" they are not much better.
It also being renderd to mpeg 2 so i can add it to my dvd i have made.

DVD = 0.33MP, so don't expect the rendered video to look anywhere near as sharp and clear as the original 8MP images.
