Well, at least that update actually exists! The FX 9.1.5 and Grafitti 5.1.5 updates appear to be "mirages" - listed on the web site, but the files are the same as for x.1.1 : (

When I downloaded the Red 4.1.5 update file I noticed that it had the exact same name as the 4.1.0 update (RED4.0_4.1.exe). However, after installation the "about" dialog box did correctly show the new version number. Pehaps this is the same situation for the FX and Grafitti updates.

I noticed that too.

They sure don't seem to pay attention to detail much any more.

Between not listing update actual fixes/changes, making different updates the exact same filename, etc.

Wonder what's going on over there.

Well, I wish that were the case for Graffiti and FX. I thought I might not have seen the updated version in the "about" screen because I hadn't rebooted the machine - well, I did that tonight and still no change. I sent Boris a question regarding this via e-mail 2 days ago, but have not received an answer. I find that my e-mail requests never get a response, so I'll end up having to call them.

There was a time a couple years or so ago, all of my e-mails would bounce back saying that the address was invalid.

They definietly seem to have lowered their support quality.

There used to be a guy from Boris who would frequent these forums and seek to help people out with various issues. That ceased a long time ago.

That's too bad. Boris makes terrific stuff. It just looks like their attention to detail and quality of support have significantly changed for the worse over the course of the last few years.

Folks:

I was wr-wr-wr-wrong about the Boris Graffiti and FX updates. The thing I did not realize was that when you launch the updater, you have to choose "Repair" instead of the default "Modify" -- when you do that, the files from the Boris web site do indeed patch your install to version x.1.5. Sorry about that.

But they still don't answer my e-mails... : )

Hey, Tech Diver,

Any idea as to whether Knoll Light Factory Pro Edition works in Red 4?

Doesn't seem like there's many other Red users here. Just wondering if you've maybe had experience with this particular plug-in.

Digital Juice is having a 50% off sale ($399>$199). Would like to get it, but only if it works. I even called BorisFX and even they didn't know. E-mail pending... :)

Update: I tried it and it doesn't work. Crashes Red 4 every time. Oh well.
