Slightly OT: Monitor setup help needed

I have a sit down interview coming up that I need to capture directly into Vegas. I have a JVC monitor that will be connected directly to the camera so I can check white balance, lighting, etc. As soon as the interview is completed the subject wants to review it to make sure everything is fine. How would the monitor be connected to the system so I can view it? I would rather not use the preview window if it can be avoided. Would I need to get another graphics card that has a video out?

If the talent just wants to see the takes why not just play the tape in the camera, since you already have the monitor hooked to that. If you're not recording to tape then yes you have to play from Vegas. Why not the preview window? There are many questions raised by your brief query.

I am not recording to tape, just straight into Vegas. Even at fullsize, the preview window on my lcd screen doesn't compare to watching it on a 17" monitor. And my DSR300 camera doesn't have a pass through so I couldn't send it back out to the monitor even if I wanted to. Would I have to add a Decklink or Aja card?

You can preview your video through a DV device (like a consumer DV handycam... the DSR300 might do it too).

Put a tape in your DSR300 and record to both simultaneously.
I've done this numerous times.
That way, you have camera playback without worrying about the computer.
