Slo0Mo video problem!

I was thinking I had a problem with my new USB HD, but having just did a "Make Movie" avi file to my internal HD, I get the same 1/3 to half speed video playback, while the audio plays at regular speed!

I've NEVER had this happen before- what the heck have I done wrong THIS time???

Also- thanks to Mike in NC for the default reset that brought up the text editing window again.

Check to see if your clips have been slowed down.

On the timeline, right-click a video-clip, and choose properties.
Look near the bottom of the properties dialog for "Playback rate" or something similar.
1.0 means normal speed.
4.0 means fast (4x regular)
0.5 means half-speed, etc.

It is possible you accidentally slowed your clips down somewhere in the editing process.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the timeline plays fine- it is only when I "Make Movie" as an ani file that I get the slow and blurry video playback and normal spped audio- is there a setting in making an avi file that is causing this.

Is there any other way of putting the timeline on DVD without making an avi file?

DVDs are always MPEG2, so you could try rendering to MPEG2 directly.

What sort of AVI file have you been creating? What codec and settings are you using?

I was making the standard "Video For Windows" avi in VMS. I'm now trying to make an MPEG2 file on my USB drive to see if that works. I'll let you know!

Thanks for everyone's help the past couple weeks here! I really appreciate it!
