How do you slow down a video clip in VF so it plays in slow motion? Also, how do you freeze frame a clip. Like have the video playing and then all of a sudden freezes at a certain frame?
Cfgolf85,
The way I slow the clip down is to hold down the control key and drag the end of the clip out until I see a wavy line appear. The longer you make it the slower it goes. Conversely, if you hold the control key down and shorten the clip, it speeds it up. Now, to do the freeze frame, I'd have to click on the clip and go to the frame I want (hit the plus sign until it shows each frame) and place the line marker on it so that it shows up in the preview window, then go down to the preview window and just above it, hit the little disk. You will get a pop-up window that asks what you want to name the .jpg file and when you name it and give it a location on your hard drive, you hit okay and it appears in your library. Then grab it from the library and place it on the timeline where you want the stop action to occur (just above the music peak or lull) and adjust the rest of the clips before and after it. You can also extend the length of time it shows (stop motion) by dragging the end of the picture (or squeezing it). That's the long way around I know but it's the only way I know how to do it. I think Vegas has a feature that does this much easier. Anyway, hope this helps.
