Slow win boot after VV5 installation

When installing VV5 I was prompted to install Microsoft.NetFramework1.1.
After that i have a quite new win opening and its really slow.
Is net framework important for VV5 or can I run VV5 without it?
I´m using XP Home.

You will need the .NET framework for running Scripts and Network Rendering.

I am told that .Net Framework is required for the V5 installation, regardless of if you will use those parts of the program that need it.
