Slowing down music

So I believed I posted this topic months ago about how to slow down the music. Basically, I wanna achieved the effects like they have in the Musical.ly app (or whatever the app is called) where the person is moving fast while the music is playing at normal speed. I normally do dance videos where I sit my iPhone up and record myself on my iPhone while the music is playing on my laptop through Sony Vegas (at normal speed) then when I’m done I plug my iPhone in and convert my file to an mp4 then drag it onto S.V. I know I can stretch out the audio and my video at the same time but the audio is always changing. It sounds like a chipmunk. Any suggestions???

If you right click on the audio track and look in properties there should be an option to check preserve pitch. Im not at my PC so I can't give the specifics but it's a tick box near the duration change. If you tick/untick that Vegas will either stretch the audio w.o. changing the pitch or w. Changing the pitch. You can also change the stretch method (to Pro/etc)

I believe there is an option in the main preferences/audio tab to default Vegas to adjust pitch (or not) when stretching audio. That is another way to do it for future media imports.

If you need to move/stretch the audio independent of the video click highlight the video or audio and click U. That'll ungroup the audio from the video so you can stretch each independently. Highlighting both and pressing G will regroup them.
