Dropping AVCHD in mov container onto T/L I found if V9.0d looses focus while building waveforms Vegas will seemingly lockup. Easy enough to avoid, just be patient.
Not that it means much but so far no problemo with slow project opening times. I opened a V9.0b project with over 2,000 events, no slower than before. This project only contains DV and a zillion wav files.
The really good news is V9.0d has fixed a problem I was having with V9.0b. Those horrid AVCHD files I mentioned at the start had sound and vision out of sync. Ppro CS3 handled them perfectly interestingly enough.
