Small VF Annoyance - Any Suggestions?

I seriously love this program and am having so much fun putting together a multimedia slide show. One problem I came across though...I've timed some slides to music - set by adding markers at the right music beats. When I render the project, the pictures are perfectly in time to the music, but when I watch the real-time preview, this is not the case. Not a huge problem, since the rendered version works ok, but I can never be sure my timing is right until I render - and as you all know, that can take some time! Am I doing something wrong? Or, is there some setting I could adjust for better previewing?

Thanks in advance!

Kim

Actually you can but I have to advise you that this is an unsupported option. Hold down the Shift key when you go into Options->Preferences and a new tab called Internal will now be there. In the Show only prefs containing: type ADV and the top option will be Show Advanced Features False just change this to True and then close VF and then reopen it and there will be a new dropdown above the preview window which will allow you to adjust your preview quality. Just lower the quality and it should speed up the preview and hopefully get you back in sync.

I don't think you are doing something wrong at all. "...there some setting I could adjust for better previewing?" I don't think there is.

You need to use as little processing power as possible as you Preview. If you are viewing in "Best" go down a notch to "Preview" quality or even Draft. Make the Preview screen smallish. This "should" allow the pc to play catch up more than if you were playing at Best - yeah? Anyway give it a go.

Grazie,

I don’t think you get the option of Best/Preview/Draft unless you enable it with the advanced option as I suggested.

JR - After I read your post - you got the jump on me - I thought, "Hmm... . I can't remember if I applied the access procedure in the "plain" vanilla version of VF or not" - Sooo.. me bad . . you are probably correct. Anyway, it will be a nice surprise for K when s/he does the same.

Grazie, Yea I couldn’t believe this wasn’t there by default until I had to reinstall VideoFactory just a few weeks ago and my preview quality was missing. I turned on advanced features and restarted VF and there it was. It surprised me too. I was so use to it for so long I couldn’t imagine why it came without it enabled.
