SMS Plat.13 crashes in Advanced mode.

Hi all,

I would really like to use the SMS Platinum 13 which I bought earlier this year.

But here I am, still using Sony VMS Platinum 10.

First, there was a problem with it SMS 13 hanging in the splash screen, I had to wait a couple of months for updated display drivers from the Display Adapter manufacturer.

Now, I can get it to start, and it runs OK in "Simple" mode, when I switch to "Advanced", I get an error;

"NON-UI-Thread - Unhandled Exception - SYSTEM.IO.IOException An u..."

A Message in the box says "An Unexpected network error occurred".

If I do not click OK to this message, then SMS apparently continues to work normally.

As soon as I click OK, it crashes.

Anyone else suffered from this one?

I have tried installing the previous and latest update in 32 and 64 bit versions, always crashes the same.

Any idea how long Sony Support takes to get to problem reports?, I have had an open ticket for almost 2 weeks now - with no activity.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on one of my 3 computers. Unfortunately for me however when clicking on the X to close the box, Movie Studio 13 crashes.

Any advice on how to fix this odd network error educed crash?

What operating system are you using?

Have you manually checked to ensure you have all of the updates?

Have you also manually gone to the ATI or nVidia site to ensure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? You'd be amazed how many stability issues are resolved with a simple graphics driver update.
