Wondering if there's any way to edit the script to return Vegas to exactly the same preview setting after the snapshot? At the moment, it returns it to 'Best auto' instead of 'Best half' which is what I always use.
As far as I am aware, when you take a snapshot of the preview window, NOT using a script, it is captured at 'Best, Full' (under the covers) and leaves it as whatever it is set as.
That sounds right. I believe the script is left over from the old days when Vegas captured the still at whatever the current preview settings where. The script was designed to make sure you always got the best quality and resolution.
Now, since the diskette icon does that for you, the script is useless.
Never heard of that, but I tried it. Definitely doesn't capture as 'Best Full' no matter what the preview is set at. Tried 4 different settings and you can see a clear difference.

Here is how it works: Regardless of whether you have your preview windows set to Draft, Preview, Good, or Best, it will capture at "Best". However, it will NOT change Full, Half or Quarter! So if you have your preview set to Preview(Half) the Save Snaphot button will switch to Best(Half) and not Best(Full). This is probably what you are seeing. It will only switch to Full if the setting is Auto or Full (i.e., Preview(Auto) becomes Best(Full))
VASST Ultimate S Pro has a function on the Editing Tools tab called "Save Snapshot to Timeline" that will capture the preview to an image and always use Best(Full) and always returns you to your previous setting regardless of what that was.

Yes John, that's what I'm seeing. Seems an odd way of implementing the feature. Why didn't they just make it go to Best Full regardless? I've got Vegasaur, which has a better snapshot feature - always returns to your original preview setting.
