SoFo please allow m2v/mpv (elementary files)...

You know I've really grown very fond of the design behind DVD Architect. To me anyway, it's fast and pretty versatile.

I would like end actions and the ability to play multiple title sets continuously, of course, but the feature I want now is the ability to import m2v/mpv (elementary files).

Many of us have become accustom to saving our MPEG2 DVD files in separate streams and virtually all other authoring packages work with them (sometimes require them).

Please put this on your short list of things to do as it would make DVDA an even better program to work in...

Thanks!

I'll second that request. I've got several movies saved as .m2v and .mpa that I don't have the original DV for anymore. I'd love to make new DVD's of these using DVDA.

Ditto. That would also allow more creative interchange between other DVD apps and DVD-A.

Ther is a workaround until DVD-A accepts elementary files and that is to multiplex the video (without any audio) to a program stream in TmpgEnc.

Yes, I currently send my CCE-Basic m2v files into TMPGEnc-Plus 2.510 and it seems to work, though I'm leery about sending non-native mpg files into TMPGEnc for muxing - just a fear from past experience I guess.

BTW, check out TMPGEnc's new DVD Authoring system. It's menus are kinda preset and no motion or audio menus: but it's very stable and allows complete control over root menu, title menu and chapter menu access. It accepts a complete range of mpg, pcm, and Ac3 audio files. It's kinda neat in it's own way.

However, it's no way as intuitive or versatile as DVD-A, but still fun and it can edit DVD files (as some would like to do)...

I would like to see SoFo address some of the major issues with DVDA before attempting to expand its feature set, such as the skipping problem cited on this forum. So far it's made the program completely useless to me and a number of other people as well.

All problems should be addressed.

However, my thread concerns the inclusion of conventional elementary files for DVDA. So, please SoFo will it ever be possible for this to happen?

Thanks!

The skipping problem, I believe, has been fixed in update 1.0c - due soon. Check this:

Would be most convenient if DVDA supported elementary files as trailer files from Dolby labs are in elementary streams. Just a hassle doing all the conversions...
