I want to solo a track and hear that track only. I don't want to hear sounds from other mix busses creeping in too. I can solo those to listen to them.
Hey - I got this too the other night. Do I have something configured wrong? I have a little test project with just three tracks - drums, bass and one guitar. I have one bus in the project set up with a reverb.
My drum track gets just a hint of this verb but when I solo the bass or guitar track...I can hear the verbed drum track creepin' in.
try right clicking on the reverb send for your drum track, and change it to "post volume". Mute and solo does not affecr the aux sends when they are set to "pre volume"
Well I know there was a thread not so long ago which I think reached the conclusion that they don't mute to keep monitor feeds active (ie when tracking/overdubbing) but when mixing it's a real PITA to have it function this way.
There should be either a global option to keep buss outputs pre- or post mute when solo'ing a track, or preferably individually switched on the busses themselves.
I put "Bypass All Audio FX" tool on the bar, and hit it when I want to "REALLY" solo something out. For the most part when I solo a vocal, I want to hear what fx are on it.

The project I'm working on has a few busses, half of them routed to a front pair, half to a back pair of speakers.
I need the bus sends to be pre-fade so that I can fade between front and back. I need to work this way at the moment rather than a surround project so that I can render out the stereo busses, load the wavs into a sampler and trigger the sounds at different times (it's a 'nature ambience' soundscape).
Not only does solo'ing not kill the busses, muting the track itself doesn't kill the pre-fade bus sends. Again, I can understand this in a recording environment, but when it comes to mixdown, particularly in this situation, what a pain. A global 'mute pre fade sends' on/off would do the trick for me.
I brought this up a while ago. Thought it would get fixed for 5 but it wasn't. Peter said that to do it right they needed to add a true "solo buss". It's not a bug but a feature :(
