Some bugs of the effects

I just found some bugs.

1) Picture in Picture : When you add this FX, you're supposed to be able to see the handles to skew the clip. But mine doesn't show any handles. So, I can't adjust it at all. Please refer the screenshot below:

2) Mesh Warp : The same issue with above. Although I increased the grid size, it doesn't show me any handle.

3) Titles & Text : Title09 has an issue that the letters are disappeared if you change it.

Vegas Pro 18 build 527

Device name :    DESKTOP-FH22080
Processor :   AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM :   40.0 GB (35.9 GB usable)
System type  :  Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
GPU : Nvidia RTX3060

That appears to be an NVIDIA driver issue, try going back to 522.30.

It really works! Thank you!

I hope VEGAS and NVIDIA resolve this problem as it's really annoying as my laptop can't revert to 522.30 for different reasons.

Indeed! I totally agree with you. So, I basically blocked the auto update for the devices. You can follow the instruction below:

How to disable automatic driver updates Windows 10?

Here are the steps you need to follow.

Press Win + S to open the search menu.

Type control panel and press Enter.

Navigate to System > Advanced System Settings.

In the System Properties window, switch to the Hardware tab and click the Device Installation Settings button.

Select No and click Save Changes.

This is still an issue today! I say that there are already a lot of new Nvidia (Studio) Drivers available, but the last one seems to have this problems as well. I try to keep al my pc's on 522.30 because that version is running okay. Is this problem limited to Windows 10 (pro) users?

It's this issue, well known at Nvidia and Vegas: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/problems-with-nvidia-driver-526-98--138196/

Driver issues with both AMD and Nvidia seem to affect not only Vegas, but BorisFX Title Studio and NBFX TP7. None of the current AMD drivers (whether 'game" or 'pro') work with those two title programs. But a driver from May of last year does.

So in the mean time, I'll stay with the "old" driver.

I've already let NBFX and BorisFX support know about this problem. NBFX says they are working on it.

@nothing I see you also have a Radeon graphics iGPU, have you tried that yet?

Simple, not every update that pops up, always means its something good, or you gonna get better performance.

My philosophy over the years for a stress free editing life is:..From my workflow is performing efficiently, i stick with it, and update only when it is absolutely neccessary.

Reyfox wrote on 6/8/2023, 1:24 PM

Sadly, we've been "conditioned" to think that an update is necessary when they sometimes aren't. Like @Steve_Rhoden, I only update if there is a problem. If there isn't one, why fix what isn't broken?

Now, if you are using other software that will benefit from the update, that's a different story.

Since this thread started there's a workaround for NVIDIA mobile users (not desktop like Gid) to let them use recent drivers. Personally I had stability problems with the newest studio driver that wrongly claimed to fix this for laptops and went back to the 531 driver release.

You do need to update NVIDIA drivers from time to time as programs like Voukoder use the newer SDKs and dropped support for older ones.
