Some questions about video capturing

The audio should not be out of sync with the video. Try rendering to MPEG2 using the DVD NTSC template (with both video and audio) and see if the audio is in sync. It should be. I’m not sure why rendering the audio separate would put it out of sync.

Cunhambebe,

If you are still looking to get a camera, check out the forums at dv.com for high-end cameras and dvinfo.net for lower-end cameras.

;) Thanks to all.
Well, here we are once again, Johnny. I guess u understood my question. It's impossible to render as DVDA NTSC video streaming becase the audio is out to sync. Ex. 1): project1 + project 2 = render = MEPG2 clip (audio out of sync);
Ex. 2): project 1 (very small, about 20 sec) = render = perfect MPEG2.

Don't know what's happening ;(
Anyway, thanks for the camera hints! I'm thinking about getting a 3 CCD Panasonic. Would that be better than Sony's TRV models?

Why don't ypu render to an AVI first so you end up with something simple to wrk with and then encode that to mpeg. You can easily check the sync in the AVI file and also the encode will be much faster so you can play around with it with much less frustration.

You only need to encode seperate video and audio if it's for DVD. If you're going to play it in WMP then you need to get the A and V in the one stream (file).

Thanks a lot for your help, farss. (I assume you've read the other messages posted before). In fact I rendered the project as AVI and later again as MPEG2 with the option "audio" checked. There's a loss of audio sync with the MPEG2 file and I don't know why (audio plays faster than video - this can be noticed at the beginning, when at the end of the intro, the soundtrack corresponding to the movie, starts playing). If I render the project as MPEG2 (without rendering to AVI first), same thing happens. I'm burning my brains. Do ya think I've got another problem with my platform?

Thanks for answering again, farss. You wrote: "You only need to encode seperate video and audio if it's for DVD. If you're going to play it in WMP then you need to get the A and V in the one stream (file)."

As a matter of fact, as soon as I installed Power DVD, MPEG2 files began to play correctly with no loss of audio sync (the loss of audio sync was happening while I was playing MPEG2 with WMP). I was just wondering what the problem is since I've installed an MPEG2 decoder order to play MPEG2 files with WMP. Anyone?????? ;)
