I use Studio Platinum for over 10 years, and when MAGIX took over I jumped on the opportunity to upgrade. I've done a lot of work over the years (am now retired) from film to TV video as well as industrial type of stuff. But I never did a lot of digital stuff, just every now and then. For a period of time I did a lot of video for stock and over the last year or two have slowed way, way down.
V16 meets all my needs and I may wait a version or two before upgrading. That being said out of all of the programs I use for stills or video, I find V16 the easiest to use and to "fresh up" on when I haven't used it in a while. My machine is a modest i7700/4200 32 fast gig, and a 1 TB SSD and a 4 TB spinner plus a couple of usb 3.0 drives, AMD 480RX 8 gig.
If I was doing this all day or even 2 or 3 days a week I'd upgrade my machine. But the performance I get out of my almost 3 year old machine is "good enough" and since 4K is going to be my work flow for a long while I am happy with V16 performance. More importantly the fixing of the old code has won my allegiance to V16 & MAGIX. 3 years ago I switched to Samplitude and find it a great program also.
It seems that folks no longer do their research and/or try to use pirated copies and then expect help. Wish the powers to be would police more, too much noise on this forum.
V16 is actually more than I need now but I'll continue to support it because I still see value in it. One of the most important aspects of V16 is this forum and the very knowledgeable and helpful folks (especially to those who have sought to really solve their own problems and post the information needed to get help).
Vegas is a complex program because it does tasks that are technically very difficult. The UI is getting better and better as is the overall speed.
So here is the thing, if you buy a copy of V16 with the help you can find here, you should be able to do most anything you need. And if there is something very specific it can't do, you can probably find a plugin to get your job done or find an answer here. Just don't post a click bait title and be civil to the folks trying to help you at no cost. Give V16 time to learn and put in the effort and IMHO as a cost/benefit ration Vegas is the best of the pack.
And I should add that I do multi-camera, green screen, move music back and forth between Samplitude and Vegas, use color look tables from PS and other perhaps advance things - Vegas has yet to fail me or have I not found a plug-in or advice here if it can be done.
