Some Urgent Help Needed, Please!

Hey I'm Josh,

I make videos for youtube and I want to ...scale them up a bit. I want to create a film where there are going to be multiples of me in the same clip. I know this is possible, I have seen it done before BUT I have no Idea how to do it.

If you guys could point me in the right direction, offer help or send me to a tutorial...it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

The technique is usually called "cloning".

Search YouTube for "vegas cloning tutorial". I saw lots of hits, but didn't watch any of them -- hopefully you'll find one that's helpful.

Two critically important things that will help you:

1. Figure out how to "lock the exposure" on your camera when you film. You don't want auto-exposure kicking in and changing the exposures while you film each clone.

2. Put the camera on a *sturdy* tripod and make sure you don't bump it at all for all the shoots. If possible, use a remote control to start and stop recording so you don't even touch the camera for that, or just leave the camera running the whole time as you film all the clone parts.

Have fun.

I'll add in there, if you're not doing this on green screen, make sure you don't cross over yourself, or it will be a LOT more work.

Also, I've done a bit of this, make sure you're shooting in a controlled environment ( eg lighting should not be sunlight, or florescent bulbs that shift in color over time).
