Some Videos don't Play on Burned DVD

Menu based DVD that is 3.1 gig size burning to a internal Sony DVD+RW DW-P50A 1.8f from an HP Pavilion ze5478cl notebook running P4 2.8Ghz with 448 ram. Burning to Memorex DVD+R 4.7gb 4x.

All video was edited in VEGAS 5, rendered MPEG2, and imported into DVD Arch 2.0b (build130), so compatibility of individual video files is good.

In prepare, the audio was listed as only thing needing compressed. All 21 video clips needed no recompression and has an average bitrate of 4.2mbps when viewing optimizing DVD window. Default bitrate is 8.

PROBLEM
It seems that video burned closer to the center of DVD play fine, the further from center of DVD video does not play. I can deduct this because some video plays while other video doesn't. I can view on consumer grade DVD all but 8 videos which are grouped under two sub-menus.

Spent 4 hours rebuilding entire DVD menus to be certain it wasn't my own error last night...running out of troubleshooting ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Michael

Try different media or a lower max bitrate.

I burned successful in DVD+RW but would rather not go that route. I did not change my bitrate.

Still trying to figure out how to use DVD+R and get the entre project to work.

It could be your media. I had a similar issue and upgraded my media with good results. I realized that I really did not understand the different media and quality issues. I was also using paper labels on my DVDs and understand that that could also have an impact. Try this site for some info:
