Hmmmm. Looks like it's 3D Blinds. But darned if I can't recreate the look you got. Any chance of you sharing your transition properties? I really dig the look you achieved.
I'm at work right now but I only changed one attributed to give it a different look. There's a slider called "stagger" I believe- if you tweak that slider it give you very uneven blinds. I wanted to use the blinds transistion without looking too much like a blinds transition- if that makes any sense.
Am I the only one who didn't like the viedography at all? Overuse of the dutch tilt, over-repetitive shots of the same people over and over and over, no logic to the camera movements (that was also done over and over and over). Frankly, I was bored after the first 15-seconds. I did like the intermittent "bad TV" effects and the last 15-seconds were the best.
Steve- not trying to start any flame war or the like- just out of curiosity how old are you? I ask because I've gotten a great deal of mixed feedback about this piece. Most of the negative feedback coming from older folks. I'm just wondering if I'm possibly on to something.
Well, GM, your theory about viewing age may be weak....... there's old as dirt, older that dirt, saw the first sunrise on earth, partyed at the BigBang crowd and then there's me... and I liked it, though my vision is a little shaky,(maybe that was an earthquake),stereo color vision was justing being designed, early model version, you know.
I'm 39, and I liked it. That's a credit to your editing because I otherwise wouldn't have much use for the music. But as a backdrop for your editing, I thought it was moody and very effective.
I suspect the negative reviews have more to do with personality than age.
BTW, I think one can absolutely overdo the dutch tilt thing. But in this case, I think, it was the spot-on correct choice. I think tilts are well-used when you don't really notice them so much. And I didn't.
Think about it. A wedding video. Moody Sopranos music. Your shooting and editing would almost HAVE to reflect the dissonance between the two. The tilts do that for me. Other approaches would've worked too, but tilts are a justifiable choice here, I think.
