Sonic Foundry - please clarify the new Sound Forge 6 email offer

Hi all,

Today I received a new version of the Sound Forge 6 email, extending the offer to June 30, 2002 based on reports that some people didn't get the original email. The discrepancy between $199.95 and $149.95 has been resolved, and that figure is $149.95.

The new email offers two options:

Option 1 Upgrade to Sound Forge 6.0 for only $149.95. (no "savings" figure)

Option 2 Upgrade to Sound Forge 6.0 and receive Noise Reduction 2.0,
our DirectX plug-in for repairing and restoring audio - all for
only $249.95 - a savings of $650!

My question is this: both options are for "upgrades", so does that mean you already have to have an earlier version of Sound Forge to be eligible?

There are different e-mail messages out there depending on which version of Sound Forge you currently have. Some people have said that they have gotten more than one message. Please call us if you are unsure which offer you qualify for, and we will help you figure out what's up.

I don't have any version of Sound Forge. I downloaded the Sound Forge version 6 PDF to learn more about the product.

I know that some Vegas Video users have said they find that Sound Forge is useful for Vegas Video projects. I have no doubt that Noise Reduction 2.0 would be useful for my video projects, but since Sound Forge apparently has no support for surround sound yet (neither 4-channel Dolby Pro Logic analog surround nor 6-channel Dolby Digital AC3), I may wait for Sound Forge 7. In the meantime I will be looking for some affordable way to incorporate surround sound in my Vegas Video productions.
