Marty,
I've just gotten off the phone with Michael from the LVCC ADA office. He informs me that on page 9 of the LVCC building manual, paragraph 4 it clearly states that guide-dogs and other assistive animals are always welcome at the LVCC.
He further requested information about what woman you may have spoken to, or at the least a phone number that you called along with the time of day you called, so that he might learn who you spoke to, as he was very upset that anyone at the LVCC would have said anything relating to seeing what was happening or taking place.
You are welcome to call him at the LVCC directly, the number there is (702) 386-7100, and you may ask for Mike in the Operations Offices.

I'm wondering if you called NAB, which is where the registration for the show floor would have taken place.

We're willing to help you where we can, however it would likely be best for everyone involved were this to be taken offline. and managed over the phone or through emails. We don't check the forums often enough to be able to respond quickly. Our number here direct is 435-882-8494

Marty said:

"A small follow up. It is against Federal Law for any publicly held company to hold a convention in a place or places that are not handicapped accessible."

Sorry, Marty, but that's the second or third time you raised that issue.

You are clearly trying to use this forum to air your griviences about handicapped access. Like the link to the abortion video that caused a big fuss over the past weekend, this isn't the place to push your agenda. Which is why I raised the issue in that thread. Maybe now more people will understand WHY I raised it. We can't resolve all the injustices of the world in this fourm. That's not its purpose, regardless if its about abortion or restricted handicapped access or too much rain in California. This isn't the place!

Are you in charge of the forum or just restricting other free speech about Vegas and Sony issues?

Here's the thing, I paid money to Sony for products. I wish to use these same products. A law exists to make sure I may use these products and services.

And yes there has been a great deal of rain in California( I have missed my daily run), and yes we have a long way to go to understand one another, after all isn't that what war about?

Now as for the results, you can bet of a couple of things are happening, one they will never restrict the handicapped again, and two screen reader ready documents will be in my hand tommorow instead of next year.

When I spoke with Doug at Vasst today he was trying to make accomodations for the handicapped. He had the NAB on the phone and the Convention Center. To tell you the truth it makes me not want to attend.

When the only way I have to force business to comply with law is a non monatary law suit then that's what I will do, I am certainly not goiing to apologize for this action. If Sony continues these discrimination practices

I have never filed suit for money in my life, and I am quite old, if you have evidence to the contrary please post it otherwize just enjoy the benifits of a better comapny made so by the pen not the sword.
Mr. Dodge head of Sony Media Software did not have a problem with my post, why do you?
I will not post the outcome on this url, but in another forum, that should satisfy at least those of you who believe I am in it for the dollars, and or the fame.

Best Wishes,
Marty

For purposes of clarity, I didn't make any special arrangements. LVCC and NAB have always had a policy of allowing service animals in the building. I only confirmed for you, what the NAB and LVCC policies are. We're looking forward to seeing you at NAB and the Vegas Users Event!

Maybe I am the only one missing the translation here... as from what I have seen (the posts in this forum) it would appear that your concerns should have been resolved?

Why would that result in you not wanting to attend?

Hello and thanks,
Have you ever wanted to do something and people tell you know, it is not possible?
After awhile of pushing you just want to say never mind and that is what companies depend on you see, and by letting them assume a weakening they have exposed their hands, and now I must makes amends to you and say you bet I am going! See ya at NAB
Best Wishes,
Marty

Since its now seems appropriate to spam this forum with whatever your agenda is, I'm going to start a thread about one of my pet peeves. In the past few days we've seen abortion injected on some false pretense, now handicapped access, so its high time to really disucss IMPORTANT things.

Mine is the length of hot dog buns. This of course is an important and appropriate topic for a video editing forum, every bit as important as abortion or handicapped access being discussed here.

I don't know about anybody else, but I've noticed hog dogs are on average about an inch shorter then your typical hot dog bun. That an outrage! Since almost all of us have a hot dog from time to time, with the warmer months coming up, I'm going to circulate a petition to either increase the length of hot dogs or reduce the length of hot dog buns! There, I said it. I feel much better.

To be fair... the specific request by Marty... while a little OT was at least of relevance to his attendance at a Sony Vegas event. I don't quite get that same connection with the hot dog.

Secondly, I'm not sure where you called, but we don't have any women working here at VASST

uh oh... I hope nobody from N.O.W. is monitoring this forum! :)

It seems that everyone who needs to be involved in resolving this issue is now communicating successfully, and any discussion about food items or the satirical merits thereof can be taken elsewhere.

Please, people, if it doesn't concern you, don't go out of your way to make it concern you.
