Sony Capture question

When I capture DV, why does it say Microsoft DV Camera and VCR? Has something switched on me? Shouldn't it say Sony Capture?
I'm using Sony Video capture 6.0 - Default, but as soon as I turn the power on to my Sony camera it says: Microsoft DV Camera and VCR.

I've checked the capture preferences, but didn't notice any option for a capture codec. Has a codec switched on me?
If something has switched please describe what I'll have to do to get the proper Sony capture back. I don't really remember it ever saying Sony but I keep forgetting to ask about this.
Thanks in advance

It's referring to the device that's connected, not the capturing application. Some cameras/vcrs contain ID info which is readable by Windows, and their name will come up, but if not it will say Microsoft DV camera.

Thanks for the info
I've noticed it for years and never really thought there was a problem, but I finally decided to ask. It just bugs me to see the words "Microsoft DV", when I'm using Sony as the source and capture.

All you're doing when your capturing from your DV camcorder is transferring data. Neither the Vegas nor Microsoft DV codecs have anything to do with capturing, so no quality is lost whatsoever.
