I want to become Certified in Vegas and would like any input on the exams Sony has for Certified User and Editor. Like what training aids and or books would be the best to learn from.
That book is excellent, IMHO...I am just starting out with Vegas, so that obviously shows my bias. I'm on the 8th. module of the book, going to re-read the book with emphasis on the parts I'm still a little fuzzy on (Module 7, for example) then I'm going to take the online exam.
Now, that brings me to my question...other than a whole lot of work and practice actually using Vegas to edit video/photos/sound, what is recommended for study for the SCVE certification?
I suppose, in a more general sense, I'm asking what folks recommend for study beyond "Digital Video & Audio Production?" I'd also like to ask, specifically, what is recommended to learn DVD Architect?
I know many people here have been instructed in the ways of Vegas via the VASST training DVD's myself included and the trainers are pretty regular contributors of this forum.
Agreed on all points. As for the editor's exam and creds, you have to complete an intensive two day training and pass both a written test (the same one as for the User cert) and a hands-on, timed and moderated, pop quiz of real life tasks with supplied footage and resources. I don't recall if the exam was one hour or two hours, but it was thorough. Well worth it in my opinion; I got mine at NAB a couple of years ago. As stated above, the vasst basic through advanced training dvds cover everything you'll need.
Thank you for the Input. I will start with the Book and when I have the coin I will get the training DVD's from Vasst. I have teh DVD from them on movie studio, and have been using it for since it came out, but just recently got Vegas 8 pro.
