Sony Color Match

I have using Vegas faithfully since version 3 cranking out wedding and corporate films...my color correction process had been the same since the very early days of using the color correction tools/verify with vector scope...etc. Truthfully I haven't been a big follower of the forms here as I got tired of the constant bitching etc that normally goes on with any internet forum. Over the years I have learned to set my cameras as best as I can during capture to reduce post production work and have been extremely successful. With that said, didn't realize Sony had added a color match filter with version 12. I recently had a error with the setup of one of my cameras just prior to the start of a wedding ceremony - I had been shooting b -roll inside and outside of the facility and forgot to change the WB setting for outdoor.
Obviously that footage color temp was very wrong from the rest. I started doing my normal color correction process and wasn't very happy with the outcome. I stumbled onto the color match quite by accident...OMG...what any amazingly simple tool to color correct between cameras shooting the same scene... yes the computer has to REALLY work during rendering... but so be it :-)

I was excited about color match when Vegas Pro 12 was released and it comes in handy when you need it.

The feature from 12 that I use most is the ability ungroup the video and audio temporarily with the shift key. Sometimes the simple things bring the most joy.

I enjoy doing road trip videos with a video camera mounted on the windshield. I use color match for correcting windshield tint. Works quite well for me.

One thing I discovered is that GPU acceleration works amazingly well for this effect. In fact, with CPU only, the render times increased by a factor of 13. Here is a link to some of my findings I posted awhile back. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=872603
