Hi everybody,
I just bought a Sony DCR-IP5 MICROMV camcorder at Circuit City, yup, MICROMV not miniDV (for those occasions when I need something even more portable than our Sony PD-150 camcorders). Unfortunately, I am having a problem with this camcorder and Vegas despite the presence of an iLink or IEEE-1394 port.
I bought the unit yesterday and spent an hour or so today taping various things - by way of ensuring I would have a broad range of footage for evaluation. Imagine my dismay to encounter problems between this camcorder and Vegas. Anyway, before I take this turkey back for a refund, does anybody have any words of wsdom to share?
By the way, what's curious is the provided software is called MovieShaker 3.1 but there is an brochure included in the box for a special version of Pinnacle's Video Studio . . . which seems strange, but what the heck. Anyway, since the unit can be made to work with Pinnacle StudioDV I figured it could surely be made to work with Vegas too since Vegas readily handles MPEG2 files. Thoughts anyone?
John
