I have Sony DCR-TRV 103 D8 camcorder which I used for few years. Now, i'm transfering all my D8 tapes to DVDs. Before recently I was working on transfering Hi8 tapes and all of them (Hi8 tapes) had time/date stamp, which I like - gives you sence of time when recording was done. When i started working on my D8 tapes, I've noticed that date/time stamp is being shown on camera display, but not in captured files. I dug out manual for my camera, and found somethig to this nature: "when transfering video material through FireWire capturing of date/time data is not possible"... Does any of you guys have similar camcorders and how you work around this "feature"??? For now i'm adding "Text generated media" for 20 sec at the begining of new scene with date when video was taken, but it's really pain in the neck to do it this way...
