I've had my share of problems as well, but the Forumadmin usually chimes in. I saw this today:

and I also saw it posted here a few weeks back. Anyone here a developer looking for work in Madison?

I must admit that I've fixed all of my Vegas 6 problems simply by reinstalling Vegas 5 and using Premiere Pro (tryout version)!

Mike, the only thing I can figure is Sony felt that in order to compete with the "big boys" they had to do something they were doing... build buggy software. How times many over the years have read about everyone else using all those other editing programs that were always and forever crashing? The earlier versions of Vegas were very stable. It was a superior application, but still the "big boys" weren't buying. So inorder to be taken seriously, Sony had to determine what the others had that they didn't. Evidently this is what they settled on.

I've been a loyal Vegas user for years, since ver. 3. I tried 6 but wound up going back to 5, and there I'll stay until they get rid fo the bugs.

Yeah same here, but with a splash of Edius ,, am an early Vegas user and have to say I love the program. Things seemed to start gettin a little strange back in 5 when 3d stuff was added.I use 5 all the time but still think 4 was more stable, but thats just my opinion. I am hoping all will be well soon and I'll be using 6 and loving the nesting feature.

Jay...agreed. I am going back to 4 or 5 until all the bugs are worked out... By the way Jay- love you video work!

Win...on the same page with you. Ihate to give up stability for added features, but I must say- the features, when bug free- will be extremely powerful.

In 6b I can't render a 2.5 minute project using CF Intermediates and lots of 3D rotated stills. It always crashes about 20 seconds into the render. I can render a DV 16x9 version OK.

More problematic however is that while editing, it's almost like Vegas operates with a ceiling on the number of mouse clicks I'm allowed before the timeline will no longer respond to the "play" command. The save button still works. I hit that and then several clicks later, Vegas crashes. At least I get a warning of the crash, save my latest work and then restart Vegas. I generally get about 15 to 30 minutes of editing before hitting the click limit.

Anyone else getting regular crashes with a "no-play" warning while editing?

I've got 1Gig of RAM, SCSI Raid 0,
