Sony Knowledgebase HIJACKED!!!

JohnnyRoy wrote on 11/10/2010, 6:33 AM
Is it just me... or does the web link to the top of this forum for Support | KnowledgeBase at:

http://www.custcenter.com/

...being REDIRECTED to:

http://www.rightnow.com/

I don't think this is supposed to be happening.

Can anyone else reproduce?

yeh 2nd that.

think the problem is the initial link ("www.custcenter..."
most of the Sony links from the top menu begin with http://www.sonycreativesoftware

Not to worry, folks, nothing has been hijacked. It is an internal error, and we're working on resolving it. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience.

Looks like someone accidentally set the DNS for custcenter.com to be an alias to a subdomain at custhelp.com instead. custhelp.com is part of rightnow.com.

Actually, I was looking for the link to a patch for Vegas Pro 8.0 that Sony provided to work with Quicktime greater than 7.6.2. Someone was complaining that VP8 did work with Quicktime and I remembered it was in there so I went looking for it.

You know... you don't have to know all the answers... you just need to know where to FIND all of the answers. ;-)

Or know how to find out where to find out where the information is.

Back when $dayjob bought an IBM RT computer it came with a packing case full of manuals. Volumes 17 through 21 were the index to the manual. Volume 22 was an index to the index. It was amazing how useful that that last volume was.
