Sony MP4 codecs vs. 3ivx, etc.

I notice in 6.0c that we can render to the MP4 container, but only using the Sony AAC/AVC option. 2 questions:

1. How does the Sony MP4 codec compare with 3rd-party MP4 options like 3ivx or QT7?

2. Is there any way to render from the Vegas timeline directly to an MP4 file using (for example) the 3ivx codec? Or do we still have to go through the .avi-remux-to-mp4 route? If I install QT7, will this change anything?

Thanks in advance.

Am I the only one who uses MP4? Sony? DSE?

I have similar questions also. I'd love to see a lengthy article or small book on encoding and employing mp4-divx.

I encoded a great looking MPEG4 using Vegas, but when I try to add 'hinting' in QT7 I get the QT error "the movie contains an incorrect time value".

Let's use Frameserver's export to another application for render MPEG 4.
Sony AAC/AVC only a little baby, that can say "Now MPEG4 in Vegas too!" But it's only a first word (I hope)
