Sony Noise Reduction 2.0

I have been leaving Vegas to run Sound Forge to apply the noise reduction to some of my audio tracks. This seemed tedious, so I decided to install the Sony Noise Reduction 2.0 that I bought a few years prior. But, when I went to install it, I get an error message that it's already installed. Does anyone know where I would go to find it in Vegas?

Steve, I just checked Vegas 12 and found it under Audio Event FX under either All or Sony folders - it's titled Noise Reduction. The About button shows that it is the same plug-in name and version as the Noise Reduction 2.0 plug-in in Sound Forge, and the Noise Reduction plug-in windows and selections for both VP and SF are identical. I hope that this is the one that you're looking for.

That's where I would have expected to find it, but there is no "Noise Reduction".

Is "Sony Noise Reduction Plug-In 2.00" listed in the 'Uninstall a program' list from Window's Control Panel? If the Noise Reduction plug-in has been installed (and as you are using it in SF, it must have been installed), it should be there. Assuming that it is there, try uninstalling it and then re-installing the plug-in as the re-install should hopefully get Vegas to recognise it, though it's probably a good idea to have Vegas and SF closed when installing the plug-in. But before doing that, you might want to first check Program Files (x86) as there should be a "Noise Reduction Plug-In 2.00" folder under the "Sony" folder. If you are successfully using the Noise Reduction plug-in in SF, then that folder should be there.
If a re-install does not get the plug-in to load with Vegas, it could be that there is a Registry issue with Vegas re the Noise Reduction plug-in. After uninstalling the plug-in again, running a registry cleaner might clear that problem. In suggesting this, I am aware that some people are happy to use a registry cleaner but others are risk-adverse to using them as the cleaner might remove more than intended causing more aggravation later on. Last week, I was able to solve a problem with a Roxio product that wasn't loading a plug-In even after installing and uninstalling the program. Running the registry cleaner that is included in the Norton anti-virus program on my computer enabled the Roxio program to run properly after re-installing it.
But I hope that a simple uninstall and re-install will be all that's needed.
