OT'ish.....Model # SDMP232WD- name Sony "Premier Pro 23" Widescreen LCD". Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron? Shouldn't it be The Sony Vegas 23" Widescreen?! lol

Anyway anyone see one of these- WOW, I can just imagine what the Vegas 5 timeline is going to look like on this. But it's going to take me a whole lotta savings- this puppie is running $2500. Maybe Sony will drop the price to match Apples 23" Cinema display at $1999.99. If so I'll buy one tomorrow- Sony are you listening.

I've been told you can use the Apple 23" Cinema with your PC, you just need an adapter.

I have been using a standard Apple 17 inch Trinitron monitor woth my PC for over 5 years and I got it used, still going strong. Yes all you need os the correct dongle to use it on a PC.

he is taking about the DVI to apple link required now for all apple cinema displays .. apple removed the DVI connector ..

Gm,

You mean to say that you have $2,000 to plunk down on a monitor right now, but it's going to take you a lot of savings to bump that up another $500? :-)

By the way, this has been my dream monitor for about a year now. It's on my Amazon wishlist in case anyone wants to buy one and have it sent to me.

Well I really don't even have the $2000...lol. If it WERE $2000 I'd make a point to get it. I'd sell a bunch of gear on Ebay, etc.

It's a beautiful monitor but isn't good for anything other than content creation. Gaming, movies, etc are not recommended on it...it's got an incredibly SLOW 40ms pixel response. Lots and LOTS of bluring during motion. :( As much of a gamer I am I'm not sure if I should even opt for this...it's just the image of my Vegas 5 timeline spanned across a 23" widescreen...wow.

That's a very good input. I am planning on putting a system together by about the end of the year that will ultimately support HD editing and 16:9 format. This looks like the right PC monitor to me.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a 16:9 format LCD (or perhaps plasma) that would provide good HDTV performance and still let me use it as second PC monitor in a dual monitor setup. Fast switching between the PC monitor and HDTV monitoring is of course a must.

I'm curious if anyone is running this type of setup.
