Sony servers extremely slow -- again

Lately, the Sony Creative Software site has become sluggish at best to totally unresponsive. It is worst in the mornings -- yesterday the site was unreachable for over an hour. This morning is almost as bad -- dropped connections, timeouts, dns errors. It's not my connection -- even secure sites load in the blink of an eye. Nor is it the backbone -- I get a rock-solid 6+Mbs connection to Milwaukee.

Same thing happened a couple of years back, and after a lot of complaints, was made better for a while.

When a giant like Sony can't allocate enough server / bandwidth capacity to stay alive during peak periods, it creates a really poor impression with visitors.

Ditto!

Yesterday Grazie and myself couldn't connect for several hours, from 16:30 to 21:00 approximately (BST) and since the slowness I now have to log in each time I visit the site.

Edit: and while posting this the connection timed out 3 times.

I saw a post that they were moving into a new building.
Maybe they are slowly moving the servers.... one harddrive at a time....

I've not noticed any slowdown at all, at any time of the day, and I usually check in several times each day.

This is absurd. Hundreds of duplicate posts triggered by server narcolepsy, the user then has to delete.

How hard can it be for Sony to bring enough server capacity to handle the normal daily load? I've been timed out or reset two dozen times in the last half hour. Same thing yesterday. Ridiculous.

Same here--very poor performance today. It has taken six attempts to post this alone. Every other page isn't loading as I've been browsing.

Frustrating at best.

Hi all. Sorry for the escalating slowness these last couple weeks. Additional servers are being racked as we speak and we should have them online early next week.

I am not a frequent contributor to the forum, but I do check in most days. I have not experienced any slow access times over the past few months and even in the last 2 years.

I am located in the UK and wonder if the problem is confined to the USA.

Thank you, FA!

Yeah, for the last several days, I have also been getting the timeouts or failure to load a page here in the Seattle area. Hopefully the new servers will help - I assumed some poor slob behind the scenes was busting his buns trying to fix whatever was going on (been there, done that -- nothing like management "help" to speed the process along !! )
