Sony Vegas 5.0 now working... but doesn't recognize my disc drives

Thanks to your previous help on this forum I was able to transfer my Sony Vegas 5.0 to my new computer. But now, it doesn't recognize my disc drives! So I can't burn any discs. (The drive area just lists "None" - - when I do actually have a CD/DVD drive.) Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

@David-F I don’t really have a solution, with respect to doing something within vegas. Within Windows, obvious I know, but sometimes unless you have a disc in an optical drive, the drive letter doesn’t appear.

If there is no drive letter showing within Windows, you can add, or change it in Computer management.

Thanks, @JN- the drives seem to be showing up everywhere within Windows... but Vegas doesn't see them!

@David-F Sorry David, I can’t think of anything else. I have successfully written to DVD's using vegasaur, and blue-ray within VP, ISO images only. I usually, in both cases write an .iso image from within VP. Then I use Windows or Nero to burn the .iso image to disc. So in my case i’m not writing to disc within VP, only to an image file.

This isn’t much use to you I know, hopefully someone else will chip in more knowledgable than I am about this.

I used to have this problem when updating Vegas or building a new computer. Sometimes I would force windows to reinstall the CD/DVD drivers and that would fix it. But like JN seays, I don't use Vegas to burn disks. I use IMGBURN which is a free program. Vegas had some issues with certain players after burning disks.
