When I import wmv files into Vegas from my Sony HDR-CX115e camcorder no audio is imported, only video. The video is MPEG-2 codec, but I don't know if I have the right audio codec.
The camera shoots AVCHD but I use standard mode on the camcorder. When it is imported onto my PC via PMB it is .mpg (Sorry not wmv). HD clips from my camcorder when imported appear as AVCHD files though.
When I go into proporties on the clips in Vegas it says the file type is 'Main Concept MPEG-2'.
I realise it conflicts and it sounds strange but I am reading what it says.
I am having a similar problem... when I attempt to capture video from my Panasonic PV-GS320 DV camera via USB cable, the audio that is captured with the video is from the laptop's microphone instead of from the tape... is this a configuration problem? Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? Laptop is running Vista 6.00.6002 (Service Pack 2).
Mary,
That is not a similar problem. DV is an entirely different format, so you will need to start your own thread. But the correct way to capture DV is over firewire, not USB. Thanks.
Post the properties of your mpeg file using Mediainfo.
If what you have is mpeg-2 video with ac3 audio, try renaming the file extension from .mpg to .vob and see if the audio opens in Vegas.
Also try importing your files directly without using PMB.
I am really really really really sorry for wasting your time. I have just updated Vegas to 8.0c (I thought I had updated it before) and it is now fine.
