ok, i know you hear this a thousand times. sony tech are idiots. I did everything they said. then everything they said again. which they repeated. when i am rendering a vid and such. that i collect from friends. it will just shut off the program at any percentage. without anything happening. I have shutdown all programs, background, and screensaver. just sat there with only that running. still happened. i upgraded everything on it like they said, but didn't work. i have over a gig of ddr ram. i have bought new fans for my computer. every other program works find. this one doesn't give an error or shut off my computer. the program just closes. Any help? Any questions I can give you about my setup? Thanks so much guys!

While you said you purchased new fans, did you use some canned air to clean the dust off the heat sink for the CPU? I'd also just blow the dust off the motherboard in general; memory, north and south bridge, everything. Also blow any dust out of the power supply.

Does your system have any kind of monitoring for CPU temp? If so, try monitoring the CPU temp while rendering and see if it climbs up just before you lose it.

While rendering also uses the most CPU (and thus creates more heat), it also uses more power from the power supply. If your power supply is too small for the hardware you have or has other problems, then issues would be more likely to show up during a render.
