Sony Vegas Pro 13 Freezes while building peaks

I've been using Sony Vegas Pro 13 for months without any problems, but today it freezes whenever I try to import a large file size. I've used bigger file sizes in the past without a problem so I was wondering if anyone knows what's going on?

So far I've tried:
Reinstall (including removing keyregisters)
Run Sony vegas in compatitlble mode (Windows Vista)
Import media first instead of drag and drop
Go to Internal preferences and change Enable multi-core rendering to False
Go to Video preferences and make sure GPU accelaration of video processing is turned Off

A video file of 5 min (1.89GB) is no problem and loads, but when I try to add a 30 min (10.6GB) or 2 and a half hours (52.6GB), it tries to build audio peaks but simply freezes. I've imported bigger files before of for example 46 min (182gb) so...anyone have any advice?

Note: Dropping any of the files in a different editing program (adobe premiere) works without a problem.

Have you tried to delete the old audio waveform file for your 10GB file? It is the sfk file located in the same folder where the videofile is. Just a small try.

Thank you for trying to help, but I figured out the problem. It wasn't the program, but the recording itself that needed fixing.
