Sony Vegas Pro 13 Media Generator Bug

Ruby888 wrote on 7/5/2017, 1:33 PM

Hi,

I have a strange bug in my Vegas Pro 13.Windows 7 PC 64bit. Build 453. When I click on Media Generator and try and animate it, I get horizontal lines in the preview area. See the video:

I do not have a copy of my original Vegas I downloaded. It works fine on another machine I use, but my main video editing machine Media Generator is all screwed up. I don't have any other bugs, just the media generator bug,

Please help!!!!!!

TBH, I'd upgrade to the last build of VP13 build 545 that is Magix branded now. Your hardware specs? Video card drivers?

Cannot duplicate your problem. Using V13 Build 453 .. I'd assume all of your Gen Media, Noise Textures are not working ..

First I'd uninstall and reinstall VP13. If you have a serial number, then just download Build 453 again, uninstall, then reinstall .. This may not solve the problem but it gives you a fresh start.

Have you tried disabling GPU acceleration?

Disabling the GPU worked. I don't know if I will have any performance issue after that, but the Media Generator is now working perfect, thank you so much. I spent so much time on this. I will also download the program in case I have to reinstall Windows. For some reason I can't find my download from Sony. Thank you to everyone who helped.

I am using it on a Toshiba Qosmio i7 Nvidia GeForce GTX 670M. There is no new driver available from Toshiba. I was just doing some work in Vegas and no performance issued that I could see.

What nvidia driver are you using? There are known issues with specific driver versions for nVidia cards. This spreadsheet should help you determine which driver is best suited for your editing with Vegas: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-7FBumRiK9iWjreeJOn84_Jd_K7N1Vp_gRGmfsQl9lg/edit#gid=1932950844

My GPU is not listed there. This is the only problem I ran into in 3 years using Vegas 13.

Your GPU is Fermi based - knowing that can help you find a similar card with the best drivers based on that info - https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-670M.72197.0.html

Forum members like @OldSmoke and @NickHope are more knowledgeable than I and could possibly help you find the best driver for your specific graphics card. I"m stuck with an old nVidia Quadro FX880M Fermi based GPU on my Dell Precision M4500 Laptop and I've found that the best driver isn't the most recent. You may find a similar situation for your hardware as well.
