Sony Vegas Pro 15 Rendering Issues

Hernuri wrote on 4/22/2020, 12:55 AM

I have been using my purchased version of Vegas Pro 15 on this computer for almost three months now. Suddenly, i am unable to render past the 46% mark on one particular video.

i have adjusted the video tab settings to stop the GPU. i have Shift clicked preferences to get the internal tab and adjusted a few things to false as directed by several youtube tutorials. i have reset and cleared the cache for sony vegas. i have deleted the clip and recut it only to have it stuck at 47% i have attempted to pre-render and that didn't complete either.

There is no such thing as Sony Vegas 15. It's just Vegas 15, owned by Vegas Creative Software.

Download mediainfo and give us a report on the media file you are editing. That will get us started. We need your project settings as well.

Vegas Pro 15 cannot use your project because in Vegas Pro 15 it is impossible to load files with more than 120,000 frames per second.
Because in your screenshot is stated that you use 22871 fps I 'm sure you are not using that program but a pirated version and for that you get no help here.

You are mistaken. i purchased the program back in 2017. Clearly you are not as knowledgeable as you assume you are. https://gyazo.com/7ad65e322db0362df70bddb24e7e2dbe

In your link I don't see any use of Sony Vegas Pro 15 as the title of your post is saying, look

When I type in my Vegas Pro 15 that framerate of the one you state in your other link I see this

BTW

Clearly you are not as knowledgeable as you assume you are.

I assume nothing.
I show you only how it is going in Vegas Pro 15 and that your first link with the projectproperties of that program are impossible.

I think that the different region settings confuses. Decimal point and comma are exchanged.

That would make sense to me. Have you heard of this issue before and does the information i provided offer any inkling of what could be the problem from your perspective.

excuse my misquote. i have been using SONY vegas since 8.0 when it was sony vegas pro. ultimately, the purchase is legitimate. as 3point mentioned it could be a conversion difference. the assumption was that my copy was counterfeit. do you have a solution for the problem described or simply reply to reiterate you wont help?

I tried to help you. Thatswhy I first tried to copy the type of project you were using. My Vegas Pro 15 could not make the projectsettings you showed and that I told you with a possible reason on which I was mistaken, also due to wrong information.
Question, how were those projectproperties made, by yourself or automatic by the program?
Because the properties are 4K and your problemfile is also 4K with ~30fps that file may not cause your problem. Which exact rendertemplate (customized?) are you using.

I think your problem is caused by the variable frame rate of your media. Vegaspro15 expects constant framerates. You can try to convert your variable framerate media to constant framerate first with the freetool Handbrake, before importing it into Vegas. Unfortunately I have not experience with this and can not give further advice.

j-v wrote on 4/22/2020, 2:35 PM

@3POINT because @Hernuri used the english version of the program as you and I, I thought point versus comma could not cause this. That framerate in a project is impossible. Try it out. and if you succeed make a screenshot and show me.

Edit : this was the screenshot of @Hernuri with also wrong dimensions

Has nothing to do with English version of Vegas. Regional settings are Windows based. Your regional settings are dutch, despite englisch version of Vegas.

This is my screenshot: English region set in Windows and this my screenshot Dutch region set: See the different use of decimal point and comma.

@j-v i haven't made any customizations that i can recall. i have pretty much dropped the clips in edited it and rendered it with no problem for about 3 months now. suddenly i cant render past 46% the capture is from recording my screen and opening the file in vegas. i record my screen using debut video capture software.

i attempted to render in the following two formats:
https://gyazo.com/5881222d12c505f5f7ebc3f2d7273a5f

Thanks for the info.
I'm going to try those renderrsettings of you with my VPro 15 and use HEVC files of 4K 50p.

That will take a while .
Can you tell which NVidia GPU you are using and with exactly which drivers?
Also try the possible soluttion @3POINT gave about the variable framerate of your problemfile

My renders to Magix AVC Internet 4K 2160p 59.94 fps (NVIDIA NVENC) and MagixHEVC Internet 4K UHD 2160p 59.94 fps (NVIDIA NVENC) with a project of 8 min 30 sec of sources from my GOPro Hero 4K 50p are good, no problems.
Screenshot of rendering to AVC

and screenshot of render to HEVC

No problem for Vegas Pro 15 latest build.
At you it must be something else as that file with strong variable framerate or other settings.

You definitely do not want to use variable frame rate video in Vegas 15. Try to convert it to a constant frame rate, see if that fixes your problem. Make sure your screen recorder app isn't set to use a variable rate as well. There is no video delivery format (youtube, etc.) that supports variable rates, so it's going to have to be delivered at a constant rate anyway, so might as well start off that way.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10
