If the VX2100 is like my VX2000, the 3mm jack socket for the audio does not make a very positive connection, and sometimes records on one channel only.

The only way to know for sure what you are recording is to use headphones. This will let you know if there is an input channel missing in time to fix it, and long before you get to Vegas by which point it is too late.

If your wireless receiver has a mono output, you can also improve your connection by making up a cable with mono socket on one end and stereo plug on the other. Just wire the mono signal to both stereo channels.
